Brian J. Tempest
Vice President
Brian J. Tempest has joined the Hearth Construction Team as Vice President after a distinguished 28-year career in the United States Army. Notable career highlights include: Brigade Commander of over 5000 Soldiers in 92 separate locations in Afghanistan and oversight of over $200 million in contracts; one year on the U.S Army Staff; and 3 years on the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Logistics Staff at the Pentagon. Mr. Tempest brings a demonstrated management record of exceptional results in demanding, high pressure environments. Chosen in the top 1% of Senior Army Executives for advancement throughout a 28-year career. Unique experience of formulating strategic plans, providing vision, enabling solid connections to business processes, and implementing programs to meet near-, mid-, and long-term objectives. Proven abilities to direct strategic planning, collaborate among stakeholders, and develop high-performing teams to achieve strategic objectives and business value results.
Mr. Tempest holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Mechanization from Purdue University, a Masters of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College and a Masters of Arts and Liberal Arts from Louisiana State University.
Christine Gillum
Staff Accountant
Christine Gillum has responsibility for Hearth Construction Management accounting activities. She has over 15 years of experience with business operations and accounting. Prior to joining Hearth Construction Management, she was the co-founder and COO of a real estate corporation. Ms. Gillum holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.
Alan Grider
Construction Coordinator
Alan D. Grider has joined the Hearth Construction Team as Construction Coordinator after 20 years in Commercial, Multi-Family, Residential, and Student Housing settings. He will be coordinating multiple contractors on multiple jobs in various settings. He will act as the company’s representative while on site to insure the work progress moves quickly and efficiently through the duration of the job while providing a quality product to our customers. He has received awards such as “Be the Best” and “Service with Swagger” in the Student Housing Market as Senior Maintenance Supervisor.
Mr. Grider studied at South West Illinois College and Ranken Technical College in the Electrical Program along with 20 years in the field with Maintenance he will be an invaluable resource to our company.
Andy Moreland
Project Coordinator
Andrew M. Moreland started with Hearth Construction Management in 2020 as a Project Coordinator assisting in the development of multifamily and mixed-use construction projects.
Prior to joining Hearth Construction Management, Mr. Moreland was a Development Manager at Capstone Development Group, where he spent time assisting with the real estate investments of the company including closings, equity installments, property managing, and underwriting. Mr. Moreland has market-rate development experience along with experience in Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and Historic Tax Credit (HTC) programs. Mr. Moreland has also worked with Edwards Jones as a Financial Advising Intern where he designed financial portfolios and recommended financial products based on client needs.
Mr. Moreland received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree, specializing in Finance and Entrepreneurship, from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
